Aspiring ranger with a wide range of skills and high levels of physical fitness.
I have a strong skillset for practical outdoor conservation tasks, including site maintenance such as fence and path repair, tree cutting and planting, brushcutter use etc. I have also been responsible for a tree nursery, growing new trees from collected wild seed and cuttings.
I have a good range of experience and knowledge of ecological work such as species identification and use of keys, population moitoring, herbivore impact assessments. I have a particular interest in cryptic species such as mosses, lichen and fungi.
I have helped with volunteer coordination and looking after groups of schoolchildren. I am confident at leading groups and am a good public speaker.
I have very high physical fitness and regularly walk munros, cycle and go rock climbing. I have strong navigational skills and have a good understanding of what to take and how to dress when going up mountains. I have walked many munros in harsh, unfavourable conditions.
