A BSc (Hons) Wildlife and Countryside Management degree graduate and committed environmentalist with an eagerness to learn and develop a career related to my passion of nature conservation, within the ecological and environmental sectors.
I am a motivated and proactive individual with a deep interest in ecology and biodiversity which began at a young age, having lived on a farm my entire life. Farm life has taught me the importance of good values and developing new skills in an environment where teamwork, communication and problem solving are vital. But also crucially how to work independently and take initiative, whilst working long and often unsociable hours.
By studying a degree, I have gained an abundance of skills, knowledge and experience, with arguably none more important than my written and verbal communication skills. Report writing backed up by extensive research were the backbone of my 3 years at university, where being familiar with the use of Information Technology including Microsoft Office applications were essential.
In conjunction with the academic side of the degree, I took full advantage of the university’s Rural Innovation Centre which offers a range of land-based courses and qualifications, which above all else shows that I am not only dedicated to my career but also to this sector in particular. A summary of all of my relevant vocational qualifications is available upon request.
