Environment Agency 20th August 2018 – Present – Environment Programme Officer

Administering the Wessex Area’s Environment Programme, including the monitoring of project expenditure, forecasting the programmes expenditure and reporting the success of the programme to interested stakeholders.

Kingshay 5th March 2012 – 19th August 2018 – Marketing and Media Co-ordinator

Increasing the company’s profile in the agricultural industry by increasing social media presence, updating and designing an up-to-date companywide brand and producing all digital and printed promotions.

  • Graphic design of all company promotional materials in Adobe Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign, including designing a cohesive company brand appearance. 

  • Maintaining the company’s website and publishing news and reports to the site and associated social media, including bulk emails, Twitter and Facebook.

  • Preparing project claims with full supporting evidence, such as invoices, payroll, timesheets and expense claims, ensuring protocols are developed for accurate and timely tracking within each project team.

  • Assisting in drafting detailed budgets for bids, including quarterly cashflows, intervention rates, match funding, maximum cost recovery and VAT implications.

  • Preparing and collating financial statistics for the use of project managers, the Charities’ management team and external donors/funders.

  • Managing and maintain financial and contractual records for funder/donor and internal audits.

    Glastonbury Festival Ltd, - 1st March 2003 – 28th February 2010 - Purchasing Manager/ Assistant Infrastructure Manager

    Assisting the Infrastructure Manager and managing the provision of consumables and hardware for the build and running of a 250,000 person event.

  • Ordering and distributing all infrastructure hardware, materials, safety equipment and sundries required for the build, running and take down of the festival including the design and management of Glastonbury Festival purchasing database.

  • Liaison with suppliers to place orders and manage deliveries. Overseeing onsite delivery and collections to all festival area.

  • Developing and compiling contracts with and on-site co-ordination and management of festival contractors and hire companies.

  • Liaison with the Environment Agency to ensure river and stream water quality is maintained, preventing environmental pollution.

  • Liaison and negotiation with agricultural contractors and local land owners to ensure groundwork and infrastructure systems are correctly and safely installed with minimum impact to agricultural resources

  • Designing a fresh water ammonia-testing programme and supervising a sampling team of 10 people

  • Management of a team of 70 volunteers to inspect sanitary provision.

  • Writing of detailed reports and plans for submission to the local authority to conform to licence conditions and standards; this includes pre event negotiations, recommendations and undertaking appropriate remedial actions as required.

  • Design of administration databases and improving computer operating systems for all festival staff.

    South West England Environmental Trust – February 2000- 30th April 2003 – Project Officer

    The management of £8million landfill tax credit budget and the successful projects.

  • Liaison with Landfill Operators, Project Managers and the scheme regulators to ensure value for money in project expenditure, compliance with the scheme and quality service to Landfill Operators.

  • Management of project and landfill operator budgets.

  • Reporting of financial and legal information to the scheme regulator. Auditing projects to ensure compliance with the Landfill Tax Regulations.

  • Design of a projects database (access) to improve the South West England Environmental Trust’s management and administration of contributions from Landfill Operators.

  • Attending Funding meetings with various bodies, discussing funding applications and assisting with funding decisions.

Visiting projects to ensure compliance with the Landfill Tax Regulations and all other related regulations and/or requirements.
