I have been a Freelance Ecologist for the past 7 years and have worked with many consultancies over the years. My experience I have gained is as follows:
760 hours of bat work experience including both emergence and activity surveys also gained 112 hours of dormouse experience and survey work, together with having 295 hours of Reptile & Amphibian experience and survey work.
It has been a passion of mine together with being my chosen
career to develop it further , whether freelance or employed.
Roger is a graduate of Plymouth University with a BSc (Hons) in Wildlife Conservation (2008) and also a recent graduate from our Certificate in Ecological Consultancy course. With us he learnt valuable skills such as site assessment, report writing, Phase 1 Habitat Survey, survey techniques for protected species and design and put together a fact sheet on a particular Red Listed species, the Red Kite. Roger completed a 4 week work placement within our consultancy where he gained experience in reptile and bat surveys. After this he continued as a bat volunteer and now has over 760 hours of bat work experience including both emergence and activity surveys. He has also gained 112 hours of dormouse experience and survey work, together with having 295 hours of Reptile & Amphibian experience and survey work, to his reliable and hard working attitude we kept him on as a subcontractor to complete reptile translocation work. Roger has continued to increase his knowledge of protected species through attending wildlife seminars and keeping up to date with wildlife legislation and new publications. He is a reliable and hard-working employee with a real enthusiasm for wildlife conservation.
