Ecologist with experience in protected species surveys, ECoW, freshwater surveys, water quality monitoring, and environmental microbiology
I have worked as a seasonal ecologist and as a freelancer for a number of consultancies throughout Scotland and England.
Previous experience has included ECOW and building reptile and amphibian hibernacula on a new road development in Suffolk, walkover surveys for energy companies in South Wales and Scotland, reptile surveys in Cumbria, bat surveying on the A9 duelling project and hibernacula surveying, electrofishing, fish relocation on Aberdeen bypass, vegetation surveys along river corridors, and badger surveying both in consultancy and as a volunteer for Scottish badgers. I also have basic ornithological skills having carried out owl surveys and upland/wetland bird surveys.
I have a degree in Ecology and a PhD in biological sciences surveying fish pathogens in Scottish rivers. I also have a current CSCS card, first aid in the field, electrofishing certificate and PA1 and PA6 pesticide certificates.
Happy to work alone in remote areas. I have a full driving licence and my own vehicle as well as PPE. Good navigational skills too.
