I am looking to use knowledge and skills gained from my MSc. volunteering and work experience to make a difference to the natural world. By improving access, protection, education and understanding better outcomes can be achieved.
I have gained bat surveying experience from three seasons as a subcontractor with ecological consultancies. Covering emergence, re-entry, activity surveys, and roost assessments. I am using this experience towards a Bat license.
I co produced a report for Stroud Valleys Project on visitor pressures on Rodborough common SAC investigating widening of footpaths.
Adding valuable income and support to WWT Slimbridge wetland conservation work by recruiting many new members.
Training and organisational skills gained from working with the Welcome desk volunteer team at WWT Slimbridge and fellow staff on membership recruitment and transfer to a computerised system
I have gained team work experience from organising, as treasurer of SWS committee, Bio-blitz', training events and surveys for a variety of other wildlife organisations.
I have trained and surveyed for a variety of species, developing a good working knowledge of plants, trees, habitats and a range of invertebrates.
I planned and produced a training on winter tree identity for SWS members with the aim of mapping veteran Trees in the Stroud district.
