An enthusiastic wildlife biologist, who studied successfully for a PhD at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Umea. Prior to that I received an MSc in Wildlife Biology & Conservation at Edinburgh Napier. I am committed to a career in nature conservation and keen to use my ecological knowledge and considerable experience with QGIS to further my conservation career.
I have over 10 years professional experience working with over 9 different environmental organisations around the world. I have learnt numerous monitoring and surveying techniques including: Distance, Line and Quadrat sampling, Boring ancient trees for aging purposes, Longworth, Pitfall and Light traps, Havahart live animal traps, Bat echolocation surveys and Mark-recapture and Nesting success studies.
I have over 7 years experience using QGIS software having used it extensively throughout my PhD to study habitat selection of golden eagles. All these skills above and excellent IT skills have all been maintained since leaving Sweden.
I have strong organisational and communication skills and handle multiple sets of large biological datasets and databases well. I have published peer reviewed scientific papers.

Ed Moss has a PhD in Ecology and more than ten years professional experience across a range of species and habitats in UK, Mainland Europe and Canada. His expertise covers woodland ecology and detailed, published research into birds and mammals, incorporating extensive technology (ArcGIS, QGIS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, R-Statistical, Recorder 6). Ed has experience in higher education and a commitment to wildlife conservation and the protection of the environment including excellent knowledge of community and landscape ecology. He has worked in large organisations, small enterprises, charities, retail outlets and other voluntary bodies.
