I now work with a producer of Sky News who is wheelchair-bound due to quadriplegic cerebral palsy.
When at his home I am his carer, doing all personal care & household duties. When at Sky News I help him produce the live news show from 3pm till Midnight, specifically concentrating on the paper review shows in the late evening news

Grove Farm Woodland Outdoor Education Centre - Marlborough
February 2009 to June 2016
I conceptualised, set up and managed Grove Farm Woodland Education Centre, mainly working with youth offending teams, Looked After Children & reintegration teams, to get the young offenders back into school, for which I was achieving a 60% success rate. I worked 1:1 with autistic children & teenagers.
I organised volunteer groups, set up projects for schools & youth services and worked closely with local councils and examination boards using AQA unit exams to get the KS3 & KS4 youths points towards their exams .
I then started to run courses offering children and adults the chance to experience forest living and getting back to nature which included learning how to make fires, using bow drills, building shelters, sleeping out and campfire cooking
I also worked with primary schools and had up to 70 youngsters visiting for a day once a week, plus established and incorporated an outdoor nursery, which was used extensively used by The Avenue Nursery group.

All major farm work, tractor work, all calf-rearing & stockman duties and assistant herdsman to two of the three dairy farms on this 500 cow unit which were all block-calved in September / October .
Farm started to experience problems in 1997 due to the Lloyds Insurance scandal (the owner was an underwriter for Lloyds). The final factor that closed the whole unit however was the BSE outbreak.
All made redundant 2000

Townfields Saddlers – Coventry

July 1989 to March 1993

Returned to the UK after breaking both ankles in a carriage accident on Sark. I was on crutches for nearly 5 months then took a position with a travelling saddlers going to all major horse & agricultural shows. I was in charge of stock control & organising staff. Left in 1993 to return to Agriculture


Herdsman / Farm Worker / Carriage Driver

August 1984 to January 1989

Herdsman for 80 Guernsey cows in the winter, general farm work & carriage tours in the summer. I broke horses into harness for driving & riding for guests . I undertook all aspects of farm work & stock husbandry. Also included was making our own butter & slaughtering farm animals for provision of meat to the hotel on the island of Little Sark

Experience… 7 years of delivering outdoor learning experiences to disengaged & challenging young people & young people with a broad range of disabilities ,using the AQA Unit Award Scheme which is linked in with the National Curriculum, delivering sessions from one to 1;1sessions up to a group of 70 primary school children. , using Bush craft & Survival techniques, Music, Art, Nature Awareness Exercises & Forestry skills . Through this I worked closely with local councils and examination boards

Knowledge…I have extensive knowledge of the countryside , environment & environmental issues, I have an awareness of Health & safety & I used to write my own risk assessments. I did all my sessions on a computer so I have IT competency


Skills.. Highly motivated & enthusiastic with a flexible approach to work, can work independently or as part of a team , committed to getting the best results for students at a high standard. Like to use new ideas to develop new learning initiatives for schools. I am able to engage & communicate at all levels as I have worked with nursery aged children up to team building sessions for senior managers.
