I am a genuinely friendly down to earth person with a wealth of hands on experience in many areas of UK wildlife habitat management and species surveying.
My skills are many and varied, I am an all weather outdoorsman and I believe my knowledge and expertise within the whole area of the Ornithological discipline to be of an excellent standard.

My experience ranges from; extensive man management and office based/tutoring roles within both the Civil Service and private sectors, advisory ecological/conservation roles incl. pest management, volunteer management, hands on practical work on allotments/small holdings, country estates, and working farm environments including livestock management/ handling and industrial ‘deep’ cleaning. I also have experience with farm and horticultural machinery inc. tractor, quad, and ATV driving, and all associated hand tools. My UK driving licence has both D1 Minibus and C1E trailer entitlements. I have been involved in ecological surveying and field work over many years starting with RSPB YOC winter bird surveys when I was 12 years old. Since then I have done numerous bird surveys including JNCC Seabirds Count 2021, woodland nest box projects, riparian and aquatic surveys Inc. protected species eDNA collection. Volunteer breeding season schedule 1 Raptor nest monitoring, presence/absence surveys for pest species identification mainly fox, mice and rats. Small mammal capture and release using Longworth traps.
I have an excellent understanding of risk mitigation /assessments, COSHH / HSE / EU & UK wildlife and countryside legislation. I also have good IT skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and am an effective listener and communicator, both written and oral, at all levels.
