I recently relocated to the North Dorset/South Somerset area and am looking to transfer my operational skills and competencies into an administrative or project coordination role within the environmental or conservation sector.

I currently work as a Park Warden for the Henley on Thames town councils Parks department and have done for the last 9 years. I am passionate, work to a high standard and understand the importance of progression in all aspects of amenity horticulture

I am degree educated with experience in many roles in an office and out of doors which I prefer. I enjoy a challenge working with people though I am more than able to work alone with a computer if necessary. I live in Scotland near Perth.

It has also been a dream of mine to work with animals in some way and I have also had the opportunity of watching local wildlife as well as going to be volunteering at the RSPCA Canterbury and District Branch’s animal rehoming centre where I have helped the daily cleaning and feeding. I have helped with the socialization of the cats at the centre and I have also been trusted to help with the physiotherapy of an injured cat.

 

I have gained knowledge of animal husbandry and biology while I studied at Canterbury College where I studied a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management which I enjoyed. After doing the Animal management course I furthered my knowledge my animal biology and conservation when I when onto do a HND in Applied animal science which I also enjoyed and where I helped out at Howletts. 

 

I have also gained some experience of wildlife when I did my work experience at school at the Wildwood Trust’s park. When I was at Wildwood I assisted the keepers with their daily routines which included cleaning of enclosures and feeding. I helped with the feeding of two Tawny Owlets which I enjoyed as well as some Tawny Owl husbandry. This was my first taste of working with animals which I believe helped to improve my knowledge and love of wildlife. I have also gained some hands-on experience when I was doing the HND by doing some work experience at a local farm which helped my understanding of farm animals and welfare.

An Honours Zoology student with experience of field and lab work both in the UK and abroad and an ability to work both as part of a project team undertaking directed tasks and as an individual on self-directed project work. I am a dedicated, capable and a diligent individual who thrives on both the planning and execution of conservation work or the completion of the support activities required maintaining the environments

Based in the Northwest of England, I am an Ecologist with MSc, specialising in Countryside Management and invasive species.  Looking to further my career in conservation and ecology, I am currently employed with DEFRA (APHA) working in biosecurity.

I graduated with a first-class honours in Wildlife, Conservation and Zoo Biology from The University of Salford in 2011 and since graduated in 2017 with a Masters in Conservation Biology at Manchester Metropolitan University, where I designed and produced a research paper investigating the impact of anthropogenic impacts on wrens. I have several years field experience in a number of different ecological disciplines through professional employment, volunteering and education. I am currently employed as a Biodiversity Officer at Wigan Council helping to protect, conserve and enhance biodiversity across the borough working with community volunteers, environmental organisations and contractors. I have experience in GIS, report writing, data analysis, record keeping, volunteer supervision, habitat management and project management including funding and budgeting. I am currently working towards obtaining my Great Crested Newt and Bat license. I am a motivated and enthusiastic individual looking for a challenging and rewarding job.
