I am a recent Geography graduate of the University of Birmingham. I have a keen interest in the natural environment and our responsibility to conserve it. I am a hard-working, motivated and enthusiastic individual who is actively seeking work.
I have an avid interest in the natural world and I feel passionately about our responsibility to protect it. I am particularly interested in the concept of rewilding and allowing nature to take back control; an idea that has proven effects on the impacts of climate change. Further to this, I also feel strongly about the impacts of environmental degradation on society, particularly those who are disadvantaged as often they face the worst environmental injustices. I have experience within the conservation field following a volunteering placement in Scotland. I am also an excellent communicator, work well in a team and have exemplary written skills. During my time at university, I developed my report writing and surveying skills. I am open-minded and willing to bring my own ideas to a project or role to ensure the best standard of work is maintained. I also thrive in a team setting where ideas can be shared and built upon to reach the best possible standard. I believe I will excel in a workplace that will allow me to work towards to conservation and protection of our world.

I volunteered for one month at Creag Meagaidh NNR in the Highlands of Scotland. During this placement I conducted invertebrate (namely butterflies and other pollinators) and Eurasian dotterel surveys. Also I tended to tree saplings for natural tree regeneration and learnt more about the deer management of the reserve. During this time, I also had some involvement in visitor management and the use of social media to inform the public about what was happening on the reserve. We also regularly monitored the growth of sphagnum moss which had been planted due to its importance as a carbon sink.
