Fast learning and hard working individual who recently finished Land & Wildlife Management course with top marks. Committed to a career change in countryside sector, but previous professional experience could be utilised also. Industry tickets held
I completed my level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Land & Wildlife Management (1080) recently, following several years in the corporate/commercial world after leaving university. Whilst my focus through those years was sales and customer service, it was after much thought I made the decision to leave the industry to attend college, retrain and pursue something I had come to realise I was much more passionate about - working in the countryside, being outdoors and being hands on and more connected to the world around me. This passion led me to achieve the highest possible marks on all assignments and exams over the duration of my time at college and I finished with the highest possible grade – Triple Distinction Star (D*D*D*). I learnt many new things both theoretical and practical including – protecting and enhancing ecosystems, ecology of game species, sustainable management of wildlife including deer and other game, animal husbandry through rearing of gamebirds, business management, woodland management e.g. coppicing; fencing, tractor driving and other estate skills. I also gained many other qualifications (detailed further below) in forestry/arboriculture work including safe use of forestry equipment, safe use of pesticides and emergency first aid. I also have a shotgun licence and hold my deer stalking certificate 1, along with game meat hygiene. I am keen to progress my career in the industry for which I have continued to grow increasingly passionate about, the more that I have learned.
